Group Financial Accountant

Reporting to: Chief Financial Officer

- Accurate and timely month end reporting, completed by fifth working day after end of month
- All supplier payments to be entered and statements reconciled ready for payment by the fifteenth day of each month
- All statutory, tax, payroll and lease payments (monthly scheduled payments) to be paid on time
- Completion of all weekly reporting, Cashflow and forecasting reports accurately and on time.


Weekly Reporting

- Preparation of weekly ‘flash report’ summarising high level financial results, cash flow forecast and other KPI’s for review by Chief Financial Officer and then provision to Directors and Entity Managers.

Monthly Reporting

- Accurate and timely completion of monthly financial accounting deliverables for all entities within the group, including reconciliation of all Balance Sheet accounts.
- Complete and prepare monthly Balance Sheet and Profit and Loss Statements including consolidations and variance reports for all entities in the Group
- Assist Chief Financial Officer in preparation of monthly reporting pack.
- Ensure Fixed Asset register is updated and accurate
- Assist in preparation of year end entity stat accounts and Consolidated Group accounts
- Liaise with Company’s auditors through annual audit process.

Statutory Reporting

- Preparation and lodgement of BAS and IAS for review by Chief Financial Officer, ensuring payment & lodgement deadlines are met
- Ensure company details and contact details are kept up to date with relevant authorities (ATO/ASIC/OSR)

Cash Flow

- Update cash flow projections weekly, ensuring accurate income and expenditure forecasted. Work closely with Chief Financial Officer to prepare and present weekly to Directors for all Group Entities


- Perform daily bank reconciliations for all entities
- Process bank transfers when required and inter-entity transfers
- Ensure balances are at appropriate levels and communicating any movements required to maintain appropriate balances

Systems Administration

- Introduce enhancements of systems and processes where necessary to ensure continual efficiencies across all functional tasks
- Management of the company MYOB software and backups and provide input to upgrade enhancements at or prior to implementation
- Initiate actions for improvement where identified and roll out improvements after approval.
- Ensure closure/locking of MYOB on completion of month end work
- Responsible for correct and up to date MYOB card listings of Customers and Suppliers

Credit Control

- Assist in implementing and managing the Company Credit Policy
- Ensure all client accounts created as per policy and approved by Chief Financial Officer

Accounts Receivable 

- Preparation of internal entity monthly property rental and outgoings invoices and reciprocal internal payables entries and payments.


- Review of Payroll Weekly journals, and Month End journals including but not limited to Leave Liabilities, Payroll Tax, Superannuation, Union and Child Support payments

Training & Development

- Frequent relevant seminars, or training courses to maintain or increase your knowledge and competencies that are also compatible to the business needs.

The role is a full time position based in Unanderra and reporting to the Chief Financial Officer.


  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, MYOB and experience in various payroll systems.
  • Strong customer focus with ability to meet deadlines.
  • Minimum 5 years experience in a similar role.
  • Ability to meet deadlines.

  • Experience within a service based labour hire business or construction industry.
  • Ability to link business processes from payroll through to customer invoicing.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills, attention to detail and a focus on continuous improvement.
